Last Friday, I said I would bring you a decklist for Far Fortune, End Boss.

Here’s our decklist, and the formula we developed last week:

Weapon: Ping Damage + Scenario: Opponents with Low-Life = Victory

So, we want to play cards that help us ping our opponents into a low life total so that we can optimize the damage we’re doing to finish people off. How can we do this?

Our Board State: We want to play cards that have evasive attacks to trigger Far Fortune to make sure we reach Max Speed, and we want to play cards that either burn or increase damage to make the most of the +1 to all damage.

Opponent Board State: We want our opponents to have fewer blockers so we can pull off attacks, but that doesn’t mean we have to remove them. While there are some great removal options in Rakdos, there are also great goad cards, which can help us bring our opponents to low life totals.

Based on this analysis, I’ve created the following packages that make up the deck:

Burn Package: This package serves our primary strategy and method for ensuring we can get to Max Speed.

  • Burners

    • Black Waltz No. 3

    • Coruscation Mage

    • Creeping Bloodsucker

    • Firebrand Archer

    • Guttersnipe

    • Cryptborn Horror

    • Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin

Goad Package: When enemy creatures get goaded, it means they’ll likely be tapped and unable to block. This opens up attacks for us to trigger Far Fortune and get clean attacks off.

  • Kardur, Doomscourge

  • Coronation of Chaos

Subtheme: Artifacts! The deck runs a sizable number of cards that either create or work with artifacts. This subtheme opens up a bunch of options for both burn spells and making more token creatures, but the real purpose is to make our ramp a part of the synergy through cards like Ingenious Artillerist.

Consider making this deck and taking it further in one direction or another. I would say that right now, it sits at a solid 2.5. It’s like a precon in that it has a bunch of different strategies, and any one of those strategies could be the main focus of the deck.

Let me know what you think! See you Friday.
