Welcome back!
Thanks for reading. I’ve been away for the past two weeks because I took a true L at Lorwyn Prerelease… I got COVID.

I’m feeling much better after some time to recover, plus where I’m based has been snowed in, so I decided to just take some time off from everything. I’ll be returning to my normal posting schedule (every other Monday and every Friday), starting with my actual Set Review of Lorwyn.
With that said, let’s dive into this week’s review:

Errata’d text now reads:
Target opponent reveals a card at random from their hand. If it’s an instant or sorcery card, exile it. You may cast it without paying its mana cost for as long as it remains exiled. At the beginning of the next end step, if you haven’t cast it, return it to its owner’s hand. Activate only as a sorcery.
I found Planeswalker’s Mischief while browsing theft enchantments on Scryfall. I won’t lie: this card is not very good. Revealing cards at random and only exiling them if they’re instants and sorceries for FOUR mana every activation (seven mana just to get this off once) is tough. But that said, being able to steal interaction (often interaction takes instant form) is awesome. So the question is: how can we make this card good?
My perspective is to build on this card with the 99 other cards in the deck. There are two avenues: use hand disruption to disrupt our opponents' hands AND/OR use group hug to fill our opponents’ hands, maximizing our chances of grabbing something good. That said, depending on your opponents, this could be a great way to steal helpful ramp, draw, or interaction spells for yourself.
See you next Monday for the Lorwyn Set Review!
